This lady’s dinner at the neighbor’s house turned into a nightmare. While eating she was attacked by a very large dog (bull mastiff). As you can see, the lower part of the ear is gone as well as the cartilage framework underneath. I have to give a great deal of credit to the spirit of this remarkable woman who managed to survive the attack only because she was protecting her neck by pulling her shoulder up to her head. It required several surgeries to reach the result that you see and she is very pleased with it. Reconstructive surgery is the integral part of Plastic surgery. Most of the cosmetic surgical techniques have developed from our experiences in Reconstructive surgery. This may not look like a torn earlobe but the techniques used in these surgeries are very similar.
